Full Wolf Moon

The American Indians named the first moon of the year the Wolf Moon.  For some reason this moon has been awesome to see agianst the cold night air.  Last night I couldn't resist the urge to go out in the 29 degree weather and snap a few shots.  Enjoy.

Sunset Sky

This evening while I was getting ready to make dinner, I notice that the sky had the most awesome tone to it. So I rushed to grab my camera and tripod.  Here are the shots I took, no photoshop or color enhancement.  This scene was only there for a few minutes then the light changed and the rain came down.

Lyndsee in the trunk

Today Lyndsee was the subject of a shoot using the new backdrop.  I also used a new prop that Deelisa pruchased this week, the trunk worked well.  At this age keeping her attention was harder than we thought, but with a little help from fruit loops and making faces it went quite well. Here are the edited images.

Panton Family

Here are some more before and after Photoshop images of my family.

This was a much harder photo session than I thought it would be because I was thinking we could do it outside.  Logan was so cold that I realized we'd barely be able to get a couple shots before everyone was turned into popsicles.  So then I thought we could do it at the church after my nephew's baptism, but there was a funeral right after and they were pushing us out the door!  We ended up in the next spot big enough for all of us, Mike's basement, which made a lot more manual work on the camera to adjust for the poor photography lighting.

The images of Alison and Abe's family had some challenges.  I removed the hard shadows from around Abe's face and Abbie's (the baby) dress.  I also removed the scrape on Tehya's nose. Clarity and vibrance were increased and the edges were slightly burned.

In this photo the background was not well placed so the cloning tool came in useful to create a backdrop that covers the background entirely in the finished product.

David & Whitney

With Dave and Whit's photo you can see that the original was underexposed.  Lightening up the image and sharpening the eyes created a nice warm image and the edges were then burned slightly.

The following pictures are all the same photo, however, I have applied various layers, fliters, and effects to the image to achieve the results you see.  I also used a longer shutter speed to get the blured effect of Whitney walking by.  I like the results and depending on your taste, hopefully there is something you like also.

Thanks Dave and Whit for being willing and patient to let me try a few things with you.
