With Dave and Whit's photo you can see that the original was underexposed. Lightening up the image and sharpening the eyes created a nice warm image and the edges were then burned slightly. 
The following pictures are all the same photo, however, I have applied various layers, fliters, and effects to the image to achieve the results you see. I also used a longer shutter speed to get the blured effect of Whitney walking by. I like the results and depending on your taste, hopefully there is something you like also.
